Under the Radar is Xintyn’s weekly celebration of upcoming talent. Each week, we’re spotlighting a rising artist who is bringing something new to the world of music and is capturing our hearts and minds (and ears). This week, we’re featuring  LT3N EL RAH!

Why T3N El Rah? What’s the meaning behind your name?
T3N, is where I’m from, I’m from district 10, so i just turned it into to T3N. And el rah is my initials.

When did you get into music?
I got into music when I was 7, my brother had a microphone and we just recorded a mixtape. Then when I was 13 I started rapping again but everybody was laughing and shit so I stopped. Then when I was 16 I started taking it serious and everybody started messin with me.

You have a track titled, “Free Noop“, Who is Noop?
Noop is like a big brother, he got locked up for 40 years.

How has being from Virginia and Ohio area influenced your sound?
Being from Virginia and Ohio never really influence my sound. Nobody around here really sounds like me. I sound different than everybody.

Are there any artists that you look up to?
Artist I look up to is Pierre Bourne, I started off making beats but as my name got bigger I faded away from that but I still started from making beats.

So what’s next for you?
I got a video dropping within a couple of weeks, and then I am recording another video and pushing that out. I just got to go hard on the next couple tracks.

What other artists from Ohio are currently making waves?
I don’t really know any artist that’s real from here. A lot of them just want something from you so I stay away from them and distance myself from them.

What’s been your biggest accomplishment so far, and what’s on your to-do list heading to 2019?
My greatest accompaniments.
I had 2 songs go viral on SoundCloud early last year.
Got invited to SXSW
Collabed with elevator Mag/ Str8 up
ent/hip hop central
Adam 22 co sign

2019 I want to keep the momentum and drop videos. It’s a process to everything so stay patient with it.
